This installation project is a continuation of Liliana's extensive research on how we weave and occupy the nests we inhabit, which we have all revalued during the global pandemic that we are currently facing.

Verses taken from John Keats’s poem “Ode on a Grecian Urn” (1819)
The poet loops around a Greek urn, querying it. “What leaf-fring'd legend haunts about thy shape / Of deities or mortals, or of both?”
He sees the hero in the dark of a bedroom, face lit blue by PC tower LEDs. “What men or gods are these? What maidens loth? / What mad pursuit? What struggle to escape?”
Upgrade to liquid cooling. Run the code silently to eternity. “Heard melodies are sweet, but those unheard / Are sweeter; therefore, ye soft pipes, play on.”

LYR is, in part, an appropriation of the “Liberación y Reparación” signs that can be found in mobile phone bazaars. Re-contextualising this message the artist questions aspects of our current technological dependence - emphasizing our constant need for optimisation and updating in our hyper-connected digital realities - while not losing sight of from whom, and from where, we are being offered the solutions to these particular first world problems.
