Affine - Sustenance - Reading Groups
The reading groups are on permanent hiatus, but you can join us for the Reading Room every September/October and Flunchtpunkt/Vanishing Point every January/February.
At the end of 2020 it became clear that many of us were feeling somewhat disconnected and disjointed. Confinement and a lack of contact was taking its toll, and issues that needed addressing in the physical realm were having to be dealt within the virtual, which was complicated and emotionally exhausting.
For our wellbeing, and that of our extended community, we needed to put into motion a project that can safely bring people together to counter our feelings of detachment by recognising and embracing our interconnectedness. We have formed mini groups of artists and creatives to come together to connect and commune over shared points of interest.
Originating from a long term idea to establish a think tank for Tangent Projects, these groups are a fluid collective that gather together to talk about different aspects of art, life, society and how Tangent Projects can help serve the needs of its community. In principle, these changing and overlapping groups are meeting to create objectives which will feed into how we run as an independent artspace. In practice, it is much more personal, they are small groups of artists and creatives getting together to share and be part of a shared experience.
We meet, share a text, eat a communal meal and talk about the themes in the text. If you are interested in knowing more please get in touch - info@tangent-projects.com
