Project 31
Agenda Kuir
A retrospective exhibition of ten years of the annual publication Agenda kuir.
January 13th - February 10th
Opening reception Friday, January 10th, 18:30 - 20:30h.
Agenda kuir was born in 2013. To date, each of its ten issues have brought together a selection of authorial documents and images that reflect a period of aesthetic experimentation by queer/cuir/kuir and transfeminist movements, communities and activists of sexual dissidence - from Latin America and other situated experiences.
The publication follows the format of an agenda or personal diary, with entry pages for days and weeks, but also includes literary, academic, graphic and photographic content related to sexual dissidence. Coming from a critical standpoint towards sexual norms, the aim is to intervene in the heterocentric linearity of time.
Throughout these years, the project has involved hundreds of collaborators, including activists and writers, as well as visual and performance artists. All have contributed with their voices (some of them repeatedly) to imagine together the year to come, a year that is not yet here and is yet to be made. A practice out of time, between past, present and future, in a generous network of radical friendship.
Since its eighth edition, in 2021, Agenda kuir has been printed simultaneously in both Valparaíso and Barcelona. All together around five hundred copies of the agenda are currently distributed in both the cities.
