Intermittent is an alert signal, and it is also a type of labour contract. It is the rhythm of an artist who must juggle their art practice with another job. Intermittent is Maíra das Neves’ first solo show in Barcelona, where she will present her most recent artworks: the video-essay Life Span, a self-portrait photograph, and the dark watercolour sets Workdays. 

Intermittent offers a subjective perspective from personal experience as a cognitarian worker, the proletarian class of late capitalism and its data economy.

Intermitente es una señal de alerta, y también es un tipo de contrato laboral. Es el ritmo de una artista que hace malabarismos con su práctica artística y otro trabajo. Intermitente es la primera exposición individual de Maíra das Neves en Barcelona, donde presentará sus obras más recientes: el video-ensayo Life Span (Vida Útil), una fotografía de autorretrato, y los oscuros grupos de acuarela Work Days (Días Laborales).

Intermitente ofrece una perspectiva subjetiva desde la experiencia personal como trabajadora del cognitariado, la clase proletaria del capitalismo tardío y su economía de datos.
