Lizette Nin
Lizette is a Dominican queer Black artist currently residing between Barcelona and Santo Domingo. Her art practice delves into autobiographical themes and her Afro-descendant roots, aiming to shine a light on marginalised social groups and overlooked struggles.
As a multidisciplinary artist, Lizette works across different mediums, including video, food, drawing, and printing, to create works that invite viewers to connect with and reflect upon diverse experiences.
She has a track record of exhibitions and collaborations including her involvement in Disturbances, Mourning, and Celebrations, MACBA, Barcelona (2020), Guardar semillas en el cabello, MAC Panamá, Panama City (2022), Si Las Palabras Hablaran, Fundacion Sandretto, Madrid (2022), Proyecto ECO with Lxs Sexiliadxs, Centro de la Imagen de Mexico Mexico City (2022) and O’Quilombismo, HKW, Berlin (2023).
Lizette’s dedication extends beyond art as she actively advocates for the inclusion of Black women in Spain, addressing both labour and social exclusion issues.
Her knack for blending her artistry with her love for project development brings a fresh perspective to her role as a Project Developer at Tangent Projects. Lizette’s genuine commitment to shining a light on marginalised communities, coupled with her track record of impactful collaborations, makes her an invaluable addition to Tangent Projects.
